Week4: Educational mobile application in real world.

04/20: Meet Sandy


Today class was really interesting. Sandy, who is the founder of IRYNSOFT, joined our class and gave a lot of information about real world of educational products. His application focused on individual learning after school. With VIR2GO apps, students are able to study by themselves and compensate their lack of learning. The approach that learners can download the videos from video pools and learn watching the video is very attractive. However, it seems that there are several things to be added or improved to this idea. First, this apps requires more reliable evidence or results from practical applications to the real learning settings. Next, I feel the quality of offered videos is extremely important and then building the relationship with experts is needed. Last, Sandy said his targets to buy this apps are parents. Therefore, it is required to think about the ways to grab their attractions. For example, workshops or free trials are good.



I have questions for this application. He said that he is trying to apply this idea to tablet addressing that tablets have little distractions compared to mobile phones. But, tablets can use internet. If so, there is no difference between tablets and mobiles phones. Next, if making tablets disconnect to the internet, students can't log in to Facebook and communicate with them. If so, what is benefit from using this app?

Week2 : learning HTML & CS

I majored in electronics engineering and have been working in the IT field for many years. Most people can expect to be able to do all sorts of coding if they work in the IT field, but that's not true. IT is a huge field and there are too many sub-fields. It is the same that being able to speak doesn't mean they can speak all languages. I knew a little about HTML & CSS, but I haven't coded them properly until the present. Self-study of HTML & CSS gave me a good opportunity to actively interacting with learning content, searching for more resources, merging my previous knowledge of HTML & CSS into the newly acquired knowledge, and applying the new knowledge to creating web-based instruction. Week 3: What I really want to teach?

  I already knew a little bit about CSS which is related to styling of the website. However, I've never actually used CSS because I've never actually built a website. Before taking this class, I thought that building a website was just like making an app. It was the same in making the website according to the desired specification by coding it, and putting the desired function into the website to make it work. However, I found that the way of putting the styling and functions to the website was quite different from making a mobile app. It was really interesting to me. To develop a website, three programming language are needed, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It is the different point from mobile app development which needs only one programming language, such as objective C, Swift, Android Java, or Flutter.
